The Blaire White Witch Project

Created by Eva Wolfson

The absolutely true story of my real-life encounter with the Blaire White Witch.

Or, a one-act adaptation of the ‘99 classic The Blair Witch Project, in which the witch in question is the notorious social media celebrity Blaire White. This absurd multimedia adaptation explores tensions within the LGBTQIA+ community online, irl, and in the woods.

As three queer friends get lost in the forest, each becomes possessed by Blaire White’s spirit of authoritarian trans-conservatism. An explosion of found text, projection, and real-life bullshit Blaire White has actually said, The Blaire White Witch Project makes horror ridiculous and the ridiculous horrifying. In the end, the piece reveals the dangers of memeifying regressive trans figures and ignoring the internalized bigotry within the community.

The Blaire White Witch Project was developed at a workshop with Michael Breslin and Patrick Foley at the Celebration Barn in 2024.
